Cave of Cats is formerly Lilith Rising
Blog dedicated to knowledge and enlightenment, in the name of An Mórrígan and Lilith.
This blog began as a means of educating people on the truth and history of abortion, in a day of increasing restrictions against women’s rights. It is run by an Irish pagan, goddess worshiping, combat veteran. In the past year it has become a blog advocating sovereignty and social justice.
About the Author
My sense of justice has taken me into a lot of places, gotten me into a lot of scrapes, and even to war and back. Always hailing myself as a feminist, in recent years I am finding a lot of pushback to the point that what is now loosely called “feminism” is barely recognizable from what its original goal was - – equality. In recent years, in part because of cancel culture, and women and girls who seem to push the pendulum back in the complete opposite direction toward misandry, I have stepped up once again. The Johnny Depp case has been instrumental in pushing that to the forefront of my consciousness.
In the face of ignorant misogyny on one side, and malignant misandry on the other, I stand in between with the scales and common sense. My patron goddesses – – an Mórrígan, Lilith, Justicia, Hecate, Brighid, and Fortuna. Each one of these have been maligned historically and greatly misunderstood. As such, these goddesses of battle, knowledge, justice, luck, healing, and the disenfranchised are ideal and giving succor to those who are sidelined, outcast, and denied justice.
My own personal background has been as an educator, a war veteran with experience in interrogations, and now a healer in a holistic profession. I bring all of those skills to the table physically, mentally, and call on my patronesses spiritually. As such, I felt compelled to start this blog to enlighten those on either side and the open minded in the middle. It began as educational blog posts on the history of abortion, in a time when many states are starting to restrict the flow of women’s rights and dial back history. In the name of that I sought to educate people on abortion within the Bible and throughout history.
More recently, my goal has become to combat cognitive bias and gender bias, when it comes to the rules that gender takes in domestic violence. Once again, Johnny Depp‘s case has pushed out to the forefront, and when I began reading about his defamation case several months ago, I would never have believed the rabbit hole of misinformation, outright lies, and bias that I would be falling into. Going over the evidence, it showed a clear blind spot in the movement towards domestic violence advocacy. If his case does nothing else, it should push that blind spot into the light where people can examine their own belief systems as it regards gender roles and aggression. Not to mention toxicity.
My chief goal and motto here: Always have integrity, seek truth, and have the wisdom to learn.
The Mórrígan are three goddesses of Ireland who are associated with sovereignty, battle/strategy, and prophecy. Most commonly Badb, Macha, and Morrigan (who is sometimes associated with Nemain). Collectively they are known as the Great Queen, the Phantom Queen, and are associated with ravens, eels, and the she-wolf.
What are the Mórrígan?
Who was Lilith?
“While God created Adam, who was alone, He said, 'It is not good for man to be alone. He also created a woman, from the earth, as He had created Adam himself, and called her Lilith. Adam and Lilith immediately began to fight. She said, 'I will not lie below,' and he said, 'I will not lie beneath you, but only on top. For you are fit only to be in the bottom position, while I am to be the superior one.' Lilith responded, 'We are equal to each other inasmuch as we were both created from the earth.' But they would not listen to one another. When Lilith saw this, she pronounced the Ineffable Name and flew away into the air.”
